Mobilising Churches for Vulnerable Children and Families

 

"Churches engaged, families strong, children thriving" is a key phrase in WWO that expresses the heart of our aims. But how do we engage and mobilise churches for vulnerable families and children?

By joining us on Wednesday, April 24th at 3pm (UK), 4pm (CET), 5pm (EET) for this 90-minute online learning session, you will access experience of successful church engagement and mobilisation in eastern Europe, western Europe, and will hear of a new research-based initiative to learn from and engage with church leaders in Albania.

 

Speakers:

Emily Shepherd
Emily is the CEO and cofounder of Welcome Churches, whose mission matches her passion to see the Church being at the forefront of welcoming refugees in the United Kingdom. Emily has an MA in Conflict, Development and Security where she specialised in European citizens’ responsibilities to refugees. Over the last 6 years, Welcome Churches has built a network of 1,374 UK churches Kingdom who are committed to helping refugees.

Darko Mikulic
Darko is a Baptist pastor in Croatia, and is a member of the national council of the Croatian Baptist Church. He and his wife, Gorana, are also foster carers and the care of vulnerable children has become an integral part of both their family and church life. Darko will share what this means to him as a church leader and be available for discussion about engaging churches for orphans and vulnerable children.

Adiel Bunescu
Adiel is the pastor of Missio Dei Church in Bucharest, Romania, the Church Mobilization Coordinator for ARFO (Romania Without Orphans Alliance) and coach. He is married to Simona and they have four children: three biological and one adopted. Adiel is also involved in church planting and training church leaders in the area of missional communities. He will share about ARFO’s experience in working with churches across the country in order to meet the needs of vulnerable children.
